Serving the Lord: God Wants to Use You - a 5 Day Devotional Sample

DAY 3 | UNITY IN THE BODY OF CHRIST
There’s something powerful about being surrounded by people who share your faith. In a world full of noise and division, the unity we find in the body of Christ is a gift worth protecting. God never designed us to walk alone. From the very beginning, He designed us for relationship, both with others and with Him.
But unity doesn’t mean uniformity. We don’t all think the same, look the same, or serve the same way. What we do share is a common purpose and a love for the same Savior. That’s what binds us together. Paul urged the church in Philippi:
“Fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind” (Philippians 2:2).
Unity begins when we place Christ at the center.
The early church grew because they were devoted to each other. They shared meals. They prayed together. They met each other’s needs. That kind of community takes humility and intentionality. It doesn’t happen overnight, but it does grow as we walk with the Lord and learn to serve one another with patience and love.
There’s also strength in community. When you’re discouraged, someone else can hold you up. When you’re growing, someone else can challenge you. When you’re lost, someone can help point you back to Jesus. The body of Christ is designed to function that way. We need each other more than we realize.
Unity doesn’t happen overnight; it’s something we build as we study the Word together, serve alongside one another, practice forgiveness, and share a commitment to Jesus. Today, I encourage you to stay connected. Invest in relationships. Look for ways to bless others in your church and in your communities.
GUIDED PRAYER:
Lord, thank You for the gift of Christian community. Help me to walk in unity, love well, and serve others with a humble heart. Teach me to build up the body of Christ with faith and grace.
Amen.
