God Our Healer

DAY 5 OF 30

“You Healed Me”

There’s something deeply personal about this verse. David doesn’t speak in general terms; in fact, he says, “Lord my God… you healed me.” It’s a testimony. A moment of genuine honesty turned into praise. We don’t know all the details of David’s situation here, but we know enough that he was desperate, hurting, and that he cried out to the Lord.

Through the agony of his cry, God answered. Healing comes in many forms. When we hear the word "healing," we often think only of physical recovery. But David’s prayer could just as easily reflect emotional, mental, relational, or spiritual healing. As pain can show up in many ways, so does God’s mercy!

Have you ever called out to God when nothing else seemed to help? Have you experienced His peace, His presence, and His power in the middle of your circumstance? If so, you can say with David: “You healed me.”

God still heals today! This verse reminds us that healing is not just a past event; it’s part of what God does. He is compassionate, attentive, and able to restore what’s broken. Whether you’ve received healing already or are still waiting for it, God invites you to keep calling out to Him.

Healing may not always look the way we expect or when we expect. Sometimes it’s immediate, other times gradual. But this much is certain: When we call, He hears. When He acts, healing begins!

Today, turn your healing into a "thank you." Psalm 30 is a song of thanksgiving. David’s healing became a reason to praise. He didn’t move on and forget; he paused and gave glory to the God who met him in his pain.

What healing in your life could be turned into praise today?

Questions for Reflection:

  • What pain, past or present, do you need to bring to God?
  • Have you thanked God for the healing He’s already done in your life?
  • How might your story of healing encourage someone else today?

Prayer:

Lord my God, I thank You that when I cried out, You heard me. You didn’t turn away from my pain. You came close, and You brought healing. Thank You for restoring me, for lifting me, and for renewing my hope. Help me to never forget what You’ve done. Use my story to glorify You and bring comfort to others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
