21 Days of Prayer; a Devotion on JohnSample

John 1 | The Word Became Flesh and Dwelt Among Us
The Word (Gk Logos), was understood in the ancient Greco/Roman world of the first century, as the divine organising rationalising principle of the universe, a synonym for God himself. John tells his readers that this God who created and sustains, orders and beautifies the universe has entered time and space, matter and substance and become one of us.
This is John’s way of saying Jesus is Emmanuel – God with us. God is not ignorant of us, God is not distant from us, God is not indifferent to us, God came to reveal himself, to give himself, and to bring us to himself in Jesus.
