The Power of Worship

Duncan Campbell said, “God is not looking for better methods, but better worshippers.” Revival comes when worship becomes real.

In the Welsh Revival, Evan Roberts—a coal miner—attended a prayer meeting, said “Bend me, oh Lord,” and worshipped. There were no amazing worship teams or hymn books—just people worshipping God. 100,000 joined. Crime disappeared. Bars emptied. Ponies in the mines had to be retrained—they didn’t understand commands without swearing anymore.

Worship changes everything.

But it can feel awkward. A weird choir practice. You don’t like the song. You don’t know the song. It feels clumsy. But it’s not about how it feels—it’s about declaring truth and adoring God.

Look at King Jehoshaphat. Surrounded by enemies. Instead of gathering armies or making strategies, he called for prayer and fasting. God said, “The battle is not yours, but mine.” So he sent the worship team. Not the warriors.

As they began to worship, God set ambushes. No sword lifted. Enemies defeated. Worship was the weapon.

Let’s reframe our awkwardness. Worship isn’t about emotional response or musical skill—it’s declaring God’s reality and inviting His supernatural intervention.
