The Shoes of Peace

"Stand on your feet alert, then you'll always be ready to share the blessings of peace." -Ephesians 6:15 TPT

"And having strapped on YOUR FEET THE GOSPEL OF PEACE IN PREPARATION [to face the enemy with firm-footed stability and the readiness produced by the good news]." -Ephesians 6:15 AMP

"For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared." -Ephesians 6:15 NLT

We must protect our feet, for they are the instruments used for our walk in life. And even though these are not physical shoes but spiritual, they are very much real and a vital piece of our armor.

We are all on a journey in this life and how we walk in this life will determine what life we will live. I am sure that, like me, you want to live the best life God has ordained for you.

In this life, we get to choose how we live. We get to choose how we walk in this world.

We get to choose whether we will follow God or not. When we choose to follow God and His ways, He gives us supernatural Armor that will not only protect us but defeat the enemy's plan in the process.

When we put on the Shoes of Peace, we will be able to face the enemy with a firm footing and with a supernatural steadiness ready to run our race!

Hallelujah!

With the Shoes of Peace, we stand on God's Promises. This is how we can have a firm footing.

With the Shoes of Peace on, we are able to step with purpose. Each step we take will be marked with purpose and peace. This peace comes from knowing the Lord.

As we keep our relationship with the Lord first place, we can walk confidently with peace because we trust Him. We don't place our trust in someone we don't know.

We must make spending time in the Scriptures and being in the presence of God a daily habit. As we do this, we are building our life upon the Rock, in which is our firm foundation where we gain our firm footing.

It's in the trusting that we can boldly take each step knowing that God is taking care of us. As children of God, part of our inheritance is knowing and believing with certainty that God is protecting us and that He is leading and guiding us. He is the Great Shepherd, and we are the sheep (John 10:1-21).

With each step we take, we step filled with precision and purpose.

With each step we take, we step with peace and confidence.

When we put our shoes of peace on, we are most like Jesus. We have confident faith knowing all is well and that all things with God are possible!

I feel the Lord speaking this to my heart... 'When you put on the Shoes of Peace, you are clothing yourself with Me and My supernatural power! Jesus is the Prince of Peace, and when you put on the Shoes of Peace you are putting on the nature of Christ.'

When we put on the Armor of God, we are clothing ourselves with God and His supernatural power and ability. Incredible. We need this in the world we are living in, and we absolutely need this if we are going to live in victory.

With each step we take as a child of God, it is from a place of victory... from a place of peace, in Jesus' Name! We aren't trying to gain victory or gain peace... we already have it!

Think about it... before you became a believer in Christ, you were most likely walking in fear. You were probably walking with some level of anxiety. You were walking with uncertainty. But now as a believer, you can walk boldly, you can walk confidently, you can walk securely... because you are in Him and He is in you.

This is part of your identity.

When you walk, He walks. When He walks, you walk. You are in union. A partnership. A covenant.

And because Jesus is the Prince of Peace, you too can walk in His supernatural peace!

As children of God, we are commissioned to not only walk in peace but to share this Good News to everyone (Mark 16:15). Every believer is called! Every believer has a duty to spread the Gospel that we know that is full of Peace. A peace that we all want and desperately need in this fallen world.

Key Point: The Shoes of Peace is not just for us either... listen closely... we are carriers! We carry His (Jesus Christ) supernatural peace everywhere we go. Where we go, we bring the supernatural peace of God.

The atmosphere changes for the better when we come around because we have the Shoes of Peace on (the very nature of Christ). Where we go, the peace of God goes. Wherever our feet touch has been touched with the supernatural peace of God.

When we get around others, they will notice a shift in the atmosphere. It may have been chaos and confusion before we came into the room, but as we walk in with our Shoes of Peace on, we bring the peace of God with us in Jesus' Name.

This thing called life is spiritual. Just because we cannot see the shift doesn't mean there isn't one in the spirit realm. This is where our faith comes into play.

In a world full of anger and destruction, wearing the Shoes of Peace is vital to our walk (our purpose). In Isaiah 9:6, it tells us Jesus is the Prince of Peace. So, when we find Jesus, we find peace!

As part of our inheritance, we get to experience and live out this supernatural peace from God. It doesn't matter what storm or battle we face; we can live from a place of peace!

Keep your Shoes on!

Growing up in a toxic and abusive environment, I did not have peace. It wasn't until I surrendered my life to Christ and confessed Him as my Lord and Savior that I was able to finally feel and experience peace for the first time in my life.

(Sidenote: I was almost 30 years old)

I told God I wanted to be healed from all the pain and shame of my childhood trauma, and do you know what He told me I must do?

He told me I needed to forgive my stepfather for everything he did to me. Never did I think about forgiving him before this moment, but I tell you the very moment I chose to forgive, I felt the shackles of bondage fall off of me.

Without God, you cannot walk in peace. For years, I was walking in unforgiveness, bitterness, anger, and resentment... Sound familiar?

Without God, you cannot have true peace that surpasses all understanding.

When we choose to walk in peace, we are choosing God and His ways over our own fleshly desires. And when you do, it seems everything else just falls into place!

Why?

Because according to Matthew 6:33... when we seek the Kingdom of God above all else and live righteously, He will give us everything we need.

I needed healing, so I went to God and He showed me what to do. He was showing me how to walk according to His ways, which we know is to walk in peace.

The moment I obeyed to the best of my ability, healing came.

As I stepped out in faith (in my Shoes of Peace), the years' worth of healing I needed was coming to me and my family in Jesus' name.

Whatever God is showing you to do in your life, put on your Shoes of Peace and do it. There is always a blessing on the other side of walking in obedience.

If I can forgive my stepfather for abusing me for 9 years as a child, you too can do what God is calling you to do. He will empower you as you step out, but make sure you put on your Shoes of Peace first!

If it costs you your peace, it's too expensive. Stay in love and avoid strife. Walk in forgiveness (peace), and I declare you will be an unstoppable force of God on this earth!

The Shoes of Peace is a vital piece of Armor that we must put on. Without these shoes, we cannot walk where God is calling us.

Where God is calling us, we need these special shoes so that when the enemy throws his lies and arrows, we can stand unmovable and steadfast because we are well prepared.

The Shoes of Peace prepare us for the battle!

One way to be prepared is mentally. We know as a child of God; the enemy hates us. He cannot get to God, so he comes after us, God's children. There are things that Satan sees in us that we don't see in ourselves, so he tries to prevent us from seeing those things. He knows if we see them, we'll be too powerful for him and destructive to his kingdom.

Knowing that, we can be alert and watchful knowing that the enemy is prowling around seeking whom he can devour (1 Peter 5:8).

When you have the Shoes of Peace on, you can walk in love and avoid strife. You can walk in forgiveness. You can walk in obedience to the Lord. You can walk in purpose. You can walk in peace.

Whatever the enemy throws at you, you can stay in peace knowing you are protected, and you already have the victory in Jesus' mighty and matchless Name!

We defeat the enemy by using God's Word against him. God's Word never fails. Stand in peace today and everyday knowing who you are and whose you are!

Repent for those places in your life that you haven't been walking in peace.

Receive His forgiveness and make the decision you will walk in peace from this moment forward. Ask God to help you do this!

I declare that I put on the Shoes of Peace! With every step I take, I am carrying the peace of God with me! I am a carrier of His supernatural peace! I walk in love and avoid strife! I walk in purpose! I walk in peace in Jesus' mighty Name! Amen!
