Generosity From Heaven

Christmas is often a season of giving — but at the center of it all is the greatest gift: Jesus himself. Paul puts it plainly in 2 Corinthians: “Though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor...” (2 Corinthians 8:9). That’s generosity. Not just financial, but sacrificial. Jesus gave everything. He didn’t cling to comfort or status. He stepped into our world, lived among us and gave his life so we could know grace and freedom.

In Matthew, Jesus invites us to store up treasures in heaven. That doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy good things — but it challenges us to think about what we’re really investing in.

When we give — our time, our kindness, our resources — we’re living out the story of Jesus. Not because we have to, but because he gave first.

Generous God, thank you for giving us everything in Jesus. Teach us to give with joy and freedom. Help us treasure what matters most and use what we have to love well. Amen.
