5 Cornerstones of Godly Leadership

DAY 3 OF 5

Leaders Create Growth Plans

Clarity isn’t optional for me as a leader—it’s essential. I’ve learned that writing down the vision makes it real. In Habakkuk, God instructs the prophet to write the vision clearly so others can read it and use it. Writing something down keeps it in the forefront of your mind. I’ve grown a lot in my life, from franchising coffee shops to leading thousands of real estate agents. But I didn’t grow by accident. Growth was always intentional.

I remember one year I felt overwhelmed and scattered. I had goals in my head, but nothing was written down. I was reactive instead of proactive. Then I took a Saturday, sat down with a journal, and started writing. I mapped out goals in every area—faith, family, finances, and fitness. When I could see it, I could start to build it. That year ended up being one of the most focused and fruitful seasons of my life.

If we don’t plan for growth, we settle for survival. And God has called us to thrive. Writing the vision is an act of stewardship. It says, “God, I’m ready to partner with you.”

Reflect: What goals or dreams has God placed on your heart that need to be written out and prayed over?

Prayer: Father, show me the vision and help me build the plan. Let my goals reflect your purpose.
