The Vision of His Glory by Anne Graham LotzSample

HOPE WHEN YOU ARE DELUDED . . . by Your Own Insignificance
The vision of His glory gives hope to those who are deluded by their own insignificance because it reveals, in Jesus Christ, there is no such thing as an insignificant person or an insignificant place or an insignificant position!
---
Would you say you only have . . . a little strength? a little time? a little money? a little education? a little knowledge? Has the “littleness” caused you to feel inadequate? Has your feeling of inadequacy become your excuse for not taking the opportunities God gives you?
What doors has He opened for you?
If you are deluded into thinking your insignificant ability is an excuse for refusing to walk through them, it is not. Weakness, inadequacy, inferiority, inability can create a deep dependency upon God alone. And God will use those who are totally dependent upon Him. He holds the key!
What is our motivation to serve Him when He gives us the opportunity?
Besides the fact that He is our Lord, and we therefore have no option, He told the Philadelphian church, “I am coming soon” (Revelation 3:11). Time to serve Him on earth is short. We are to work while it is day because the night is coming when no man can work. (John 9:4)
The vision of His glory gives hope to those who overcome their timidity. Jesus promised, “Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. . . . I will write on him the name of my God” (Revelation 3:12). The pillar represents strength, the temple of God is His presence, and His name written on us is His identification with us.
You, your life, and your witness are not insignificant. Your testimony can change lives. Take a moment to write it out. How has God saved you, forgiven you of your sins, and been gracious to you? What difference has He made in your life? Be bold! Pray for the opportunity to share your testimony with someone who does not know Jesus. Remember that when you overcome the delusion of your own insignificance, the vision of His glory gives you hope by revealing your genuine, eternal significance in Christ.
About this Plan

The book of Revelation was originally written to give hope to the early church when Christians were being persecuted. It was written to a generation of Christians yet to come who will experience what Jesus described as “great distress” (Matthew 24:21). As Christians we are called to lift up our heads and open our eyes to the Person of Jesus Christ … and we will find that the vision is glorious! Dedicated to the hopeless.
