Why Did Jesus Tell This Parable?
Pop quiz! Who told the story of the persistent widow? You know, the parable you read on Day 1 and Day 2 of this Bible Plan. Who was the storyteller?
You know it! It was Jesus. He told this story to encourage us with the deep truth that God isn’t like the unjust judge. God listens to our cries for justice and righteousness. And, He asks each person to answer a big question for themselves. Watch this video to learn the big question!
“Do you believe God’s promises are true?”
An incredibly important question to answer from the depths of your heart. So, spend the rest of today’s reading centered around that question.
Ask yourself: Do you believe God’s promises are true? If yes, what has helped you come to that belief? If no, which promises do you struggle to believe?
Challenge yourself: Talk to someone about your answers to today’s “Ask yourself” questions. Find an adult you trust and process your answers with them.
Your persistent prayer: God, justice is Your design, and I want everyone on earth to know Your righteousness. Count me in as Your partner. Lead me to where things are broken and direct me on how to make a difference. Until Your world is restored and evil is no more, amen.
