Legacy: Maximizing Your ImpactSample

Time is Your Most Valuable Currency
Time is one of the most precious gifts God gives—and one of the most easily wasted. No matter who we are or where we come from, each of us is given the same 24 hours in a day. It’s not how much time we have that shapes our legacy—it’s how we steward it.
Scripture calls us to recognize time as both sacred and limited. Moses prayed, “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom” (Psalm 90:12, NIV). Wisdom begins when we understand that our days are not endless—and that every moment is an opportunity to live with purpose.
David didn’t just worship in spontaneous moments. He built rhythms of devotion into Israel’s calendar that lasted long after he was gone. He knew that time, when ordered around the presence of God, becomes legacy. Solomon, his son, inherited this structure but eventually lost sight of it. Though he wrote that there is a season for everything, his later life was marked by misused time and misplaced priorities.
We live in a world of constant motion, where distraction is easy and margin is rare. But the invitation of God is clear: slow down, seek wisdom, and align your time with His heart.
When we build rhythms of rest, presence, and obedience, we become people whose days aren’t just spent but invested. And every moment invested in the things of God will yield eternal return.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for the gift of time. Teach me to number my days with wisdom. Help me align my schedule with what matters most to You. May I not rush through life, but walk with You in step, investing my time in what will last forever. Amen.
Reflection Questions:
- Where are you spending time on things that don’t align with your true priorities?
- What small rhythm could you build into your week to create more eternal impact?
