Mini Devotions for Young WomenSample

Getting a Grip!
“Don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil.
Ephesians 4:26-27, NLT
Anger is a powerful emotion. It can drive us to say or do things that are regrettable, hurtful and out of character.
While anger may not be completely unavoidable, it is not meant to be in command of our words and actions. Once we allow anger to rule over us in a moment or circumstance, we are handing ourselves over to sin.
What if, instead of letting anger dictate our behavior, we do something with it? A moment to pray, go for a walk, journal or have a conversation with someone we are struggling with can alter the way we behave in anger.
Even if the anger doesn’t completely go away, it will no longer be in control—and neither will sinfulness!
