NearnessSample

The power of God is so immense that it is beyond our understanding. We can barely see the tiniest fraction of stars in the universe. Yet God created them, named them, and numbered them all.
What does this immense power and strength beyond anything we can imagine do? It heals the broken-hearted. It gathers those that have been scattered and brings them home. It takes care of our wounds.
What has broken your heart? A death, a relationship turned sour, career failure, becoming estranged from someone you care about, a traumatic event, a betrayal of trust? All these things leave wounds on our psyche and our soul. The older you get, the more wounds you accumulate.
We don’t usually associate power and strength with compassion in this world. Those with power usually use it to enrich themselves and cause harm to others. They use power and strength to wound others. God, on the other hand, uses His power to heal and restore those wounds. What an amazing use of power and strength! What an awesome God!
Today, ponder this: What wounds are you carrying right now? Bring them to God in prayer and accept His compassionate care.
