Day 7: God Saves His People! Esther prepared delicious food for King Xerxes and Haman. That night at the banquet King Xerxes said, “Tell me Esther, what do you want?” Esther replied, “King Xerxes, save me! My people and I are all going to be killed!” King Xerxes was shocked. “Who would dare to hurt you!? You are my Queen!” Esther pointed at Haman and said, “Haman plans to kill all the Jews. I am a Jew too.” The King turned to stare at Haman. When Haman saw how angry the King was, he fell to his knees and begged for mercy. But King Xerxes would not listen. He ordered his soldiers to kill Haman. Esther, Mordecai, and all the Jewish people were safe again! Because Esther was brave and trusted in God, she was able to help save the Jews.
