Losing to Win, Serving to Lead, Dying to LiveSample

Serving to Lead
Key Thought:
Greatness in the kingdom doesn’t look like authority or applause — it looks like a towel in your hand and someone else’s good in your heart.
Devotional:
In Mark 10, Jesus told His disciples that unlike the world’s leaders, kingdom leaders serve. The King of the universe bent low to wash feet. True spiritual authority flows from humility, not hierarchy. We would serve better with a towel instead of title.
Too many today seek to lead before they learn to love. But the kingdom turns that upside down — greatness starts with hidden obedience and quiet faithfulness, because people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.
During a disaster in the Philippines, volunteers flooded in with supplies. But it was the local church aunties, cooking rice over fires, praying for families, and sharing what little they had, who brought healing. They weren’t on the news, but they led with heaven’s power.
Pitfall to Avoid: Don’t wait for a stage or title. The most powerful leaders in the kingdom lead from the floor, not the spotlight.
Question: Where is God calling you to serve — even if no one’s watching?
About this Plan

What if the path to true life isn’t about winning, leading, or achieving — but about surrendering, serving, and dying to self? In this 5-day plan, explore with Joel A’Bell how the teachings of Jesus invite us into an upside-down kingdom where the last are first, the meek are blessed, and real power is found in weakness. Each day will challenge you to rethink what success looks like and embrace the radical, life-giving way of Jesus. You won’t just learn about the Kingdom — you’ll be invited to live it.
