Our Father...

DAY 10 OF 21

Formed by the Kingdom

What kind of world are your prayers building?

When Jesus tells us to pray, “your kingdom come,” he is inviting us into a lifelong reformation of our desires. Kingdom prayer starts with who God is and what he desires. It draws us into communion with Him and brings our hearts into alignment with his will.

The people of Israel longed for a kingdom that would restore justice, heal oppression, and bring peace. In Jesus, that kingdom was inaugurated, but not in the way anyone expected. He didn’t come with armies or political strategies. He came announcing the reign of God through healing, forgiveness, and self-giving love.

In Matthew 13, Jesus compares the kingdom to a mustard seed, tiny and overlooked, but destined to grow and fill the earth. This image teaches us something vital: the kingdom often begins invisibly, in hidden places, like a shift in attitude, a choice to forgive, or an act of mercy no one else notices. Praying for God’s kingdom to come is choosing to be part of this hidden work.

When we pray these words, we are surrendering the illusion of control. We are placing our lives under the authority of Jesus, asking Him to shape our character, choices, and circumstances so that they reflect His nature.

It is deeply active, calling us to live today as citizens of the world to come. What does that mean for your family, your work, your city? Where do your patterns need to reflect the reality of heaven?

Prayer:
Jesus, let your kingdom take root in my life today. Shape my desires around your ways. Teach me to seek justice, show mercy, and walk humbly in every setting you place me. Let your reign be seen in how I live and love.

About this Plan

Our Father...

Over the next 21 days, we’re going on a journey through the words Jesus taught us to pray in Matthew 6. The Lord’s Prayer is an invitation to be changed from the inside out. As we fast and pray together, each daily devotional will help us draw closer to God, grow in identity, realign with his kingdom, trust him for provision, and walk in wholeness.
