DAY 12 OF 21

Living the Prayer

How do you carry your prayers into your daily decisions?

The Lord’s Prayer is not meant to stay in the prayer room; it is meant to form the kind of lives that reflect the heart of God in ordinary places. When we say, “on earth as it is in heaven,” we’re not only asking God to move; we are offering ourselves as those through whom his kingdom might come.

Paul urges the believers in Philippians 2:5 (NIV), “In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus,” who humbled himself, served others, and obeyed even when it cost him. This is what the kingdom looks like lived out: sacrificial love, consistent integrity, joy that’s not tied to circumstance, and courage that holds firm under pressure.

To live this prayer means confronting areas where our own will still takes priority—how we speak, how we spend, how we respond to conflict. It means bringing God’s purposes into our workspaces, our homes, and our habits. When Jesus prayed this way, he was showing us that God’s kingdom invades the earth through people willing to embody it.

Take time today to reflect: Is there a relationship that needs to reflect more of God’s kingdom? A conversation that could be handled with more humility? A rhythm in your life that needs to be re-centered on God’s will?

Let this prayer become your posture, not just your words.

Prayer:
God, let the way I live reflect the prayer I pray. Let your will shape my thoughts, actions, and relationships. Teach me to be attentive to the places where your kingdom wants to break through today, and give me the courage to live it out.

About this Plan

Our Father...

Over the next 21 days, we’re going on a journey through the words Jesus taught us to pray in Matthew 6. The Lord’s Prayer is an invitation to be changed from the inside out. As we fast and pray together, each daily devotional will help us draw closer to God, grow in identity, realign with his kingdom, trust him for provision, and walk in wholeness.
