The Living Word Helps You See God Clearly

​​A good friend once told me...

“The one thing I find to be most important to growing in faith and in relationship with God is to meet with Him regularly and hear Him, letting Him speak to me. His Word, the Bible, is how He speaks. And if we take the time to spend with Him, then we find Him..."

Jesus is sometimes called The Word of God. When He walked the earth, Jesus was truth with skin on. You have access to that same truth through God's Word, the Bible. His love, goodness, and grace towards you will become clearer and clearer as you read about the life of Jesus.

John 1:14 tells us…

"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." (NIV)

There are many different ideas about what Jesus was like but there is only one way to discover Him yourself. And it’s pretty amazing—you get to go straight to the source of truth, the Word of God, the Holy Scriptures.

As you fill your heart and mind with scripture, I know you’ll develop a rich confidence in the faithful and loving God who authored all of creation and even gave His life for you.

Have you ever read...

Hebrews 4:12? It says,

"The word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." (NIV)

What other book claims to have this kind of effect? The Bible helps us to see God rightly, to recognize what’s true about Him, and what is a lie. It allows us to know Him deeply, and to have our lives shaped by His instruction.

God used 40 authors over 1500 years to write the Bible. It’s an ancient book, but it's also a book about today. There is one continuous story woven throughout the Bible’s pages: God is at the heart of it all, faithfully and relentlessly loving us—even sending His Son to rescue us. The Bible is the story of God’s love from the very beginning of time, to now.

This is now your story, my friend—the story of how your salvation came to be. It’s a story of hope for you—and of what your life can look like when it’s transformed by God. The promises of the Bible are yours!

Let's pray:

God, I want to see You—the real You! As I read Your Word, help me to know the fullness of who You are and how You love me. Speak to me, Lord. I’m listening. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
