Heaven (Part 2)

DAY 4 OF 10

God’s Treasure

Yesterday, we looked at what it means to live with eternity in mind and storing up treasure in Heaven. But have you ever wondered what that treasure actually looks like? What does God reward, and how does He honour a life lived for Him?

Here’s what the Bible tells us about God’s eternal rewards – His treasure for us!

Eternal Life in His Presence – The greatest treasure of all is spending forever with God, where there’s no more pain, sin, or death (see Revelation 21:3-4).

Heavenly Crowns – God gives specific crowns for faithfulness:

  • The Crown of Life for enduring trials (see James 1:12).
  • The Crown of Righteousness for those who long for Jesus’ return (see 2 Timothy 4:8).
  • The Crown of Glory for serving and leading others faithfully (see 1 Peter 5:4).

God’s Approval and Joy – Imagine hearing the words, 'Well done, good and faithful servant!' (Matthew 25:21 NIV).

Heavenly Riches – Treasures in Heaven are incorruptible, eternal, and infinitely more valuable than anything on earth (see Matthew 6:20).

Sharing in Christ’s Glory – Believers will reign with Jesus, co-heirs in His kingdom (see Romans 8:17).

God’s rewards aren’t about material things. They are about eternal joy, peace, and the blessing of being in His presence forever. These are treasures that truly last.

Let’s continue living with Heaven in mind, striving to please God and treasuring what He values most.

Reflect

  • Are you willing to follow God in return for treasures in Heaven?
  • What do you need to change in order to live in a way that honours God and values the things He values?

Pray

Lord, thank You for Your incredible promises. Help me to live faithfully for You, storing up treasures that bring You glory and last forever. Amen.

About this Plan
