Heart for the House Sample

“Hear my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray. In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.” - Psalm 5:2-3 NIV
Morning routines. We all have them. For many people, coffee is the first thought on their minds. Or breakfast, or work, or kids, the list goes on! I love David’s expression of intimacy with God in this Psalm. He speaks of his conversation with His Father in the early moments of the day. Of speaking with God and being heard by Him. Of laying down questions, requests, worries and waiting with expectation for Him to respond. What a beautiful heart posture. He knows God’s character to be good and speaks and waits with anticipation!
Take time first thing in the morning to talk with God. Sit with Him and allow Him to speak to you. Know that He hears you, that He’s close, and that He will respond. Still the noise of the coming day and the thoughts that rush in to simply delight in this moment and be strengthened.
Prayer:
Thank You Father God that You hear my every prayer. Thank You for the moments early in the day when I can talk and sit with You. Help me to lay down the requests on my heart and mind and wait with expectation for Your answer. Tune my ear to Your voice as I go throughout my day. Thank You Lord. Amen

About this Plan

David was able to set the stage for Solomon to build the temple by providing the victories for Solomon to have peace in the land, provision, and a launch pad for the new season to come. There are lessons in this for us today! For our future generations to see victory, it will take us fighting the battles now, and generously supporting God's plans to come! Join us through 2 Samuel and 1 Chronicles and be inspired by how you can be setting the next generation up for victory.
