DEPRESSION IS a LIE - a Podcast Series With Dustin TavellaSample

LETS DO THIS! (Final Day)
Key Idea: Just because something feels real doesn’t mean it’s true.
Scripture Focus: “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” – John 8:32 (NIV)
I sincerely pray this Bible plan has helped you discover some tools to start screaming back at the lies in your life. That might sound dramatic, but sometimes we need to get loud when it comes to protecting our peace and fighting for truth.
The lies we are fed on a daily basis are definitely real in the sense that we feel them… but that doesn’t make them true. Huge difference!
We’ve talked about a lot over the last few days—about worth, love, being seen, being used by God even in your weakness—and I hope you feel stronger, more equipped, and more confident to start acting on truth, even when your emotions try to tell a different story.
Big Truth: Feelings Aren’t Facts
If you remember the final trick in today’s video, it showed how our minds can absolutely trick us. We fill in gaps. We assume things. We land on conclusions that feel so real, even when they’re way off. That’s how lies work—they creep in subtly, and if we don’t call them out, they start running the show.
Here’s what is true:
✔️ You DO have worth.
✔️ You DO matter.
✔️ You DO have purpose.
✔️ You are NOT forgotten.
✔️ You are precious and wonderfully made.
So, What Now?
If I could leave you with one final challenge—it would be this: don’t do this alone.
Invite someone into this journey. Really invite them.
Be bold. Tell them, “Hey, I’m trying to fill my life with more truth. I’m trying to fight back against lies that have kept me stuck.” Ask them to check in on you. Maybe even have them go through this plan too. The accountability will help keep you moving forward when your motivation feels low.
God never meant for you to walk this out in isolation. Some days will feel harder than others, and when that happens, you’ll need people who remind you of what’s real and speak life over you.
The bottom line?
Your feelings are valid, but they’re not always truthful.
Don’t let what feels real keep you from whatisreal.
God has spoken truth over you. Now it’s time to walk in it.
Try This Today:
- Text or call someone you trust. Share one takeaway from this plan.
- Ask them if they’ll check in with you this week.
- Make a short list of truths (from Scripture or your journal) and keep it somewhere visible. Read them out loud when things feel heavy.
You’re not crazy. You’re not weak. You’re not too far gone.
You’re just human—and you’re growing.
Let’s keep filling ourselves with truth and pouring it out into the world around us.
You’ve got this—and God’s got you. Always.
Prayer You Can Pray:
God, thank You for walking with me through this journey. Thank You for reminding me of who I am and what truth is. Help me to recognize lies quickly and replace them with Your Word. Give me the courage to invite others into this journey so I don’t walk alone. I want to live out of truth. I want to live free. Amen.
Bottom Line:
Your feelings may be loud, but truth can be louder. Let truth lead you forward.
