DAY 8 — PSALMS 40-45
“My heart is overflowing with a good theme;
I recite my composition concerning the King;
My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.”
Psalm 45:1
Jesus is returning for a bright and glorious Bride. We end today’s reading with an ancient wedding song—one meant to awaken the heart of the Bride to see the beauty, righteousness, and divine favor of her Bridegroom. May our hearts burn with lovesickness for our Groom as we engage with this Word today.
Prayer: Jesus, I desire to be one whose “tongue is like the pen of a ready writer, a skillful poet,” telling You that You truly are beautiful. I long for You to return and acknowledge that You are the King, the fairest among ten thousand. Amen.
About this Plan

The Psalms teach us to pray, worship, and be honest before God, expressing every joy, struggle, and question. They shape our faith, pointing to Jesus, who prayed and fulfilled them. Embracing them daily cultivates a life of worship, rooted in God’s Word. In this 27-day plan, we’ll journey through how to navigate both the trials and triumphs of life while awaiting our Lord’s return. Each day includes a short devotional, 2-3 key verses, a thought to ponder, and a closing prayer.
