Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale Daily Devotional

DAY 321 OF 365

How's Your Heart? Worship is a time to seek God and to honor God, to inquire of God. But how easily the worship time can become one of indifference, routine, and obligation. Each worshipper ought to be prepared for worship: to enter humbly, with an open heart and an open mind. Then will the Lord be attentive, and then will the Lord respond. If our attitudes and actions are anything short of that, what would the Lord respond to? And how would one even be able to listen if the Lord did respond? God revealed this powerful principle to His people at a critical juncture in their history: If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. (2 Chronicles 7:14-15 NKJV) How often do we miss out on our land being healed and our sin being forgiven because our approach to worship is lazy? How can we expect a return with no investment? Be diligent, stay alert, and give worship the attention and investment it deserves. Give to the LORD the glory due His name; bring an offering, and come before Him. Oh, worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness! (1 Chronicles 16:29 NKJV) Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom. Based on this, what changes do I need to make? What is my prayer for today?
