Love God Greatly: For Such a Time as This - a Study on the Book of EstherSample

Week 2: Reflecting God
Trusting God's Purpose
Read: Esther 2:12-18
SOAP: Esther 2:17
“The king loved Esther more than all the women, and she won grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins, so that he set the royal crown on her head and made her queen instead of Vashti.”
Into the Text
How incredible is it that a young, Jewish orphan could rise to become queen of one of the greatest empires in the world? Only God can weave such a beautiful story. Esther, a woman who had faced so much uncertainty and loss, found herself in a position she could have never imagined. Though she was known for her beauty, it was God’s hand on her life that led her to this moment. God had a purpose for Esther far beyond what anyone could see at the time.
One powerful truth from Esther’s story is that God never works without a purpose. Even when life seems confusing and the road ahead feels uncertain, we can trust that God is always moving for His glory and our good. Esther didn’t know what was ahead, but God had placed her exactly where she needed to be—ready to be part of His plan to save His people.
In our own lives, we may not always understand the seasons we walk through. There will be moments of hardship, and we may even find ourselves questioning God’s timing or purpose. But Esther’s story reminds us that God is always working behind the scenes, orchestrating events we may not yet understand. God is faithful to use even our most difficult days to shape us and bring about His perfect plan.
Prayer
Dear Jesus, thank you for the ways you are working in my life, even when I cannot see it. Help me to trust your perfect plan, especially in times of uncertainty. Like Esther, may my life be a reflection of your glory, and may I always be willing to go where you send me. Your will, not mine. Amen.
