God's Redemption Story (The Church: Part 2)Sample

1 John – Day 1
When it comes to Forgiveness, most Christians tend to fall into one of two camps. Either we constantly dwell on our sin and struggle to feel God truly forgives us or we struggle to identify anything we feel we need forgiveness for. Neither camp is where God wants us.
John reminds us if we confess our sins, God is faithful to forgive them. It isn’t God’s desire for us to wallow in our guilt, constantly wondering if we’ve been forgiven. Conversely, John makes it abundantly clear that if we say we haven’t sinned, we make liars of ourselves and disrespect the Gospel.
If you struggle to identify areas where you need forgiveness, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal these to you. If you struggle to accept God’s Forgiveness, ask the Father to remind you of His Faithfulness to forgive.
