The Kid: An Advent Devotional for Middle SchoolersSample

VIDEO TRANSCRIPT BELOW
Have you ever felt stressed out about an assignment that you were given? Maybe you saw it and thought, This is so much! How can I possibly get this done? Sure, if your teacher taught you everything you needed to know to handle it and gave you plenty of tools, resources, and time to complete it, you might’ve felt more capable of taking it on. But without help or guidance, it seemed impossible.
Similarly, bringing the Son of God into the world seemed like an impossible assignment to Mary. When she expressed just that to the angel of the Lord, He encouraged her to remember that with God, the impossible becomes… well, possible! God’s promises never fail. They didn’t fail Mary thousands of years ago and won’t fail us today.
If you experience the stress of unexpected circumstances or seemingly impossible tasks this Christmas, remember this promise from the angel to Mary. God's word will never fail, which means the impossible can always be made possible with God's help.
