All Who Are Weary: God Is My ComfortSample

Jesus Wipes Away My Tears
‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” -Revelation 21:4
The Promise: Jesus wipes away my tears.
Tears fall and slide down cheeks well accustomed to the motion. Your pillow may be dampened with deep disappointment, unmentionable heartbreak, or a dwindling hope that things will get better. You may feel trapped in this bitter cycle of anxiety, crippling thoughts, and an endless river of tears, yet the sun will still rise. Jesus has memorized the contours of your face and leans in to wipe each tear, knowing the reasons why they fell. His heart expands to fit all your hurt and hope and He will not leave you empty. He promises to satisfy your weary soul and He will.

Try This: Like a Child
What did you love as a child? Climbing trees? Riding your bike through the neighborhood? Curling up with a good book? Building things with Legos? Get back to your roots and do what brought you great joy when you were young; you may find it’s just as fulfilling today.
