DAY 220 OF 365

In 1984, the Portland Trail Blazers had the chance to sign Michael Jordan. They passed on him. Experts differ on why they did so, but we all know they missed a great opportunity. The Bible tells us that those who do not accept Jesus Christ as their Savior are missing the opportunity of the ages. While He was on earth, Christ foretold three critical events. First, He predicted He would die and rise again. Without His death and resurrection, we could never enjoy reconciliation with God. Second, Jesus foretold that the Roman army would one day destroy the city of Jerusalem. This happened in A.D. 70. In that year, the Roman General Titus destroyed both Jerusalem and the temple. That event caused Jews to flee all over the world, including Africa, Europe, and Russia. Third, Jesus promised that He would return to earth at the end of the age. He said that when He arrives, He would gather His chosen ones from all over the world. Paul informs us that He will transform the bodies of His chosen ones. He will give us heavenly bodies that can never die. Christ will establish His kingdom and fulfill all the predictions that the ancient prophets wrote about Him. Isaiah wrote that at that time knowledge of the Lord would fill the earth. Those who accept Jesus as their Savior will participate in Christ’s coming kingdom. No one should miss this great opportunity.
