We like to celebrate—birthdays, athletic victories, and even political victories. But no celebration can compare to one that is yet to come. The Book of Revelation describes the celebration of the Messiah's victory. Here is what John wrote in Revelation 7: "After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands. And they were shouting with a great roar, "Salvation comes from our God on the throne and from the Lamb." Those who celebrated included all of heaven—the angels, the elders, and the four living beings. They fell face down before the throne and worshiped God. They celebrated with this seven-fold doxology: "Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and strength belong to our God forever and ever! Amen!" They were celebrating because the Lamb, Jesus Christ had gained the victory over Satan, over the evil forces in the world, and over death itself. And because the Lamb would be the Shepherd of this great multitude. John says of them: They will never hunger or thirst again. God will wipe away very tear from their eyes. That is why we love Him and share His message. It's why we work for peace and justice in our world. We have a great future.
