In the Garden With Jesus - a Lent Journey for TeensSample

During difficult times we often get to a place of exhaustion. Tired of thinking, tired of crying, tired of struggling. If we could just sleep and disconnect from all the thoughts, questions and pressures.
Before Jesus leaves His disciples, He tells them “Pray that you will not be tempted”. Which temptation was He talking about? Somewhere between His leaving and coming back, the disciples had moved from prayer to a deep sleep. Was the temptation maybe to fall asleep? Or is it perhaps that Jesus knew when we are exhausted we are more prone to temptation?
Where do you go when you are exhausted? For the disciples, it was to sleep. It is important to know where we go when we feel exhausted so we can resist the temptation.
Prayer:
I ask for an awareness of Your work in my life.

About this Plan

You are invited to a Lent journey where we will spend 40 days with Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane - the place where He was extremely vulnerable and open to the Father’s will. Here, He shows us a glimpse of His courage to wrestle with His humanity.
