In the Garden With Jesus - a Lent Journey for TeensSample

Jesus was all about that prayer life, and it was no joke. Picture this: before he kicked off his mission, he went off into the wild, fasted, and prayed for over a month. When He was about to pick his squad of twelve disciples, he pulled an all-nighter in prayer mode. Bad news about John getting executed? Jesus took a timeout, went off by Himself, and got His prayer on.
Even after pulling off the miracle of feeding five thousand hungry folks, He didn't just bask in the glory. Nope, He made sure to find some quiet time to pray. Fast forward to that intense moment in the garden of Gethsemane, facing death head-on – you guessed it, more prayer.
And get this – even when He was going through the absolute worst on the cross, physical and mental torture and all, Jesus didn't skip a beat. He still cried out and prayed. But here's the kicker: it didn't end there. After rising from the dead, Jesus was like, "Hey, disciples, take notes!" He told them to follow His lead in the prayer game, and that's how the church came into existence – with them consistently getting together and praying. Talk about a prayer-powered squad!
Exercise:
Find a quiet place and ask Jesus to make you aware of the things you need to pray for.
Prayer:
I ask for an awareness of Your work in my life.
