Advent: Exploring Hope, Peace, Love, and JoySample

Pray
Dear Lord, I look at the response of the shepherds and Mary in this passage: the shepherds’ excitement drove them to tell others about Jesus, and Mary sat quietly and soaked in the beauty of the moment. I might tend to lean one way or the other, but Lord, help me to have both responses when I come to You—the fervor to tell everyone about You and the patience to sit in Your presence in silence and let Your joy wash over me. Thank You, Lord, for the birth of Your Son and for the ways You’ve spoken to me this Advent season. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
