JamesSample

James says that when we only listen to the word, we deceive ourselves. This is because if we only think that Christianity is about knowing a list of beliefs or rules, we miss the point.
Remember what we looked at yesterday: by believing in Jesus, we are to be transformed. This is not just a transformation of ideas, but the way we live. James refuses to allow the Christian faith to remain as an abstract set of ideas. The “religion” that the Father accepts as “pure and faultless” (v27) changes our desires and actions as well as our beliefs and confession.

About this Plan

The Epistle of James has so much to offer us as followers of Jesus today. It was originally written to Jewish Christians spread all over the ancient world. The message is straight to the point, practical, and challenging. Wherever we find ourselves following Jesus, this letter can help us realize how our spiritual and practical life should be one in the same.
