Maybe you answered by stating your name or what you do. What Jesus called His disciples in Matthew 5 had nothing to do with what they did, but rather who they were. Jesus told His disciples they were the “light of the world.” While this is a title that we oftentimes associate with who Jesus is, He had no problem telling His disciples that they too were the ones who would bring light to a dark world. As the hands and feet of Jesus, you and I can bring His light into wherever we go and in everything we do. We can choose to shine our lights brightly when we stand for truth and include Him in our everyday lives. No matter how dark the world around us may be, keep in mind that Jesus Christ, the author of hope and light, lives inside of you. You were never intended to be hidden but were created to be a light for the entire world to see.
