Jesus, prince of peace. Here with me. Devotional: Has there ever been a time you couldn’t sleep because of something that happened that day? We’ve all been there, but thankfully, according to the promises we’ve been given in God’s Word, we don’t have to stay there. Next time you have a hard time falling asleep, take a few moments and ask the Holy Spirit to do a “heart check” in you. He may show you fear, worry, or doubt hiding on the inside of you, causing you not to fall asleep. Instead of staying there, press into God’s promise that when you give your worries to Him, He promises to care for you. There may be times where He calms the storm around you, or He just may comfort your heart and help you through until you are on the other side. Use the prayer below to help you connect to God when you find yourself in a place of needing His perfect peace: “God, I give You every worry and fear I have and ask that You would replace each one with Your peace that goes beyond anything I can comprehend. From this point forward I ask that I would only experience what you have promised: sweet and peaceful sleep. In Jesus’ name, amen!”
