LENT - a Journey for Teens: The Places We GoSample

Places I Go When I Suffer Loss
On this adventure in the wilderness, we are confronted with parts of life we cannot escape. Suffering is one of these parts. How we deal with it will be a determining factor of our lives.
When we look at the life of our friend Jesus, we see how He prepares us for life. He is the ultimate example for living. If you want to understand something, just look at Him. We also see that He suffered too. Both physically and emotionally, He suffered. He also had to give up on his own will. “Not my will, but Yours.” (Luke 22:42)
During His most difficult time, His friends were nowhere to be found; they bailed on Him. Through Jesus’ life, we see how we can be comforted by the Holy Spirit. Through His life, we see that joy comes in the morning. (Psalm 30:5)
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I ask for the grace of tears, to mourn my losses. In the sweet Name of Jesus, Amen.

About this Plan

This Lent plan invites you to face that which you so easily avoid - your humanity, your brokenness, your sadness and disappointments. For the next 40 days, we will embark on an adventure filled with some alone time, prayer and fasting. Each day will provide a scripture, a guide, an exercise and a grace prayer which you can pray throughout your day.
