See, Believe and Live Our God is a God of provision. He provided everything that the nation of Israel needed to enter into the promised land. In spite of seeing how God provided for them, they grumbled against God and against Moses, saying, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness?” (Numbers 21:5 NIV). The ingratitude and rebellion of the people provoked God to send fiery serpents among them to bite them, and many of the people of Israel died. But repentance brought supernatural restoration. The Lord said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole, and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live” (Numbers 21:8). The serpents were poisonous and the bites were painful. In the midst of the pain and agony, when they looked up at the bronze serpent, they were healed. They had to divert their attention to the bronze serpent on the pole. All those who looked at it, lived. This Old Testament illustration is the shadow of the crucified Jesus. Today, if you are going through pain, discouragement, or a struggle of any kind, this illustration is an encouragement to lift up your eyes to Jesus, just like the people of Israel looked to the bronze serpent. Healing, peace, provision and everything that you need comes from Jesus Christ, who was crucified on Calvary’s Hill. Simply look at His finished work on the cross, believing it is the Lord who preserves you. No matter what we go through in this life, we only need to be focused and look to the cross where every need is met. Prayer Heavenly Father, I ask You to draw me on a daily basis to the cross, where every provision, protection and victory is released for me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
