The Easy Way Out Have you heard people say, “I’ve been graced!” We heard a lot about ‘grace marks’ in school, when as a student, you fell short of the required marks needed to pass in a certain subject, and the teacher or principal threw in a few extra marks to ensure you pass the exam. You didn’t deserve those marks because you didn’t study enough but they still felt to ‘grace you through’. They probably liked your attitude or they just favored you or felt they didn’t want to see you lose another year in the same class. In the same way, God looked down at us compassionately and in love, and sent Jesus to pay a heavy price for our sin allowing us to be ‘graced’, to be totally free and escape death and hell as punishment for our sins. All a person has to do is believe in the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved and have his or her ugly past wiped out and their name written in heaven. Some find this very hard to accept. They feel they have to work for their salvation; they have to do something to get saved. But let’s look at it this way; if there was a way for you to work your way past your wickedness to reach heaven, then would it have been necessary for Jesus Christ to come down to save us, or to pay that heavy price for us to be totally free? There is no other way for us to get saved, but God’s way. Proverbs 14:12 says, There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death. Therefore, choose the right way out. That’s God’s way, a sweat-less and sure way for you to be saved and enjoy a beautiful relationship with the Almighty God. Prayer Lord Jesus Christ, I thank You for paying the price for my sins by dying for me on Calvary’s cross. I believe in You. Forgive me for every sin of mine. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and God. Thank You once again. Amen.
