Hang on to Him Habakkuk was writing at a time when he could see injustice all around. In the midst of that, he had cried out to God to intervene. We live in a similar world. Our newspapers are filled with stories of dismay and doom. Women and children are treated mercilessly. There is no one to stand up for the aged. At times like these, we question God. We wonder where He is. We wonder why He created us for these hopeless situations. We may not receive answers to all our questions. But we must remember that He is near. We must remember the journey He has brought us on, and how faithful He has been thus far. We must think back to His love, and most importantly, we must never forget that we serve a just God (Isaiah 30:18). Times may be tough. Days may be hard. Answers may never come. The wicked may prosper as the righteous suffer. But God will never leave us. When our mind is on the Lord, He will give us peace (Isaiah 26:3). God is our refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1). Psalm 55:22 (NIV) says, Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. So, no matter what you face, trust God, and know that He will surely answer at the right time. When we leave our worries, cares and injustices in God’s hands, when we surrender to Him, He will surely fight our battles. We need not work things out in our own strength but we need to trust Him. Prayer Lord, help me to trust You when I see injustice around me, knowing that all things are in Your hands and You are in control of every situation. Amen.
