He Has Mastered It All This scripture is the key to victorious Christian living. Victory is assured by the One who mastered it all, the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus personified Himself as the vine. His Father is the gardener. Before Jesus rose and went to be with His Father, He promised, I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you (John 14:18). Jesus is now seated at His Father’s right hand, praying for us. He has sent the Holy Spirit to be with us on this earth, to guide, teach and show us things to come. The Holy Spirit can be compared to the sap of the vine plant. Just as in the natural, so also in the spiritual. Seventy per cent of our body weight is water. So also in our spiritual life. The Holy Spirit sustains the most vital function of our life. Whatever we do or say cannot be successfully accomplished, unless the Holy Spirit is in it. Zechariah 4:6 says, “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit.” Jesus’ greatest victory was achieved by the Holy Spirit who raised Him from the dead. Even our victory will be accomplished by the Holy Spirit, who will change us in the twinkling of an eye into a glorious body (1 Corinthians 15:52). But now, in our life, we need to draw the sap (Holy Spirit) from the vine (Jesus) if we desire to be fruitful in all aspects of living. Jesus means well when He says, "Without Me you can do nothing.” He is our source of life. In fact, He is the one who keeps our heart beating. Prayer Father, thank You for grafting us into the vine. Help us to draw much from You, for we desire to be fruitful a hundred fold. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
