I am Fiercely Loved We often hear about God being the very embodiment of love and about how much He loves us. If we were to describe God in one word, would it be ‘Lover’? The essence of God is love, and His love is compared to a burning fire. It is as strong as death, and His jealousy is an emotion that’s as unyielding as the finality of the grave (Song of Songs 8:6). The fire of God’s love cannot be quenched by any amount of water. Isn’t that marvelous? There is absolutely no need for us to work for God’s love. Because, there are no parameters, no limits set beyond which God will stop loving us, or love us less. In fact, God loathes us trying to buy love with substance and with pretenses. The Bible says, if a man tries to buy love with all his wealth, it would be utterly scorned. His sacrifice would be worthless. How often have we felt the need to do things and act a certain way to be loved? Quite often, while in school and college, I’ve compromised what I believe in, just to be accepted, loved and cherished. And while people did respond better when I did things their way, there was this aching in my heart because of what I had done. That was when I decided to turn to God. The Scriptures shouted out that God’s love was for me, the real me, not the pretend me! When I realized that I was loved no matter what I did, despite the rivers that tried to drown this love, it changed me. This revelation will change you too. Live consciously, aware of God’s burning passion and love for you, and His love will change the way you live. Declaration I am more than a conqueror through Him who loved me. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate me from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus my Lord (Romans 8:37-39).
