God Keeps His Covenant God made a covenant with His people, promising that His Spirit and His Words shall not depart from them or their descendants forever. A covenant is the coming together of two or more parties to make a contract or agreement. To live a victorious life in Christ, we need the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. Without these, we will be powerless Christians. God gives us His Holy Spirit when we invite Jesus to be our Lord and Savior. Some of the amazing things that He does are: He guides us into all truth, He teaches us to pray, He comforts and counsels us, He reveals the deep things of God, He empowers and anoints us for ministry, He produces His fruit in us, and He gives us gifts and manifestations of His presence. The Word brings us life, hope, peace, wisdom, guidance, correction, success, power and victory over the enemy. Do you feel dry today? Do you feel that the Holy Spirit has left you or the Word is no more refreshing you? Or maybe you fear that in these evil times your children or grandchildren may no longer seek the Holy Spirit or the Word of God. Beloved, God is a covenant-keeping God. He not only remembers His covenant (Psalm 106:45) but also does not break it (Psalm 89:34). You can be assured that when God made this covenant, He had you and your descendants in mind. The Bible tells us that God delights in showing mercy to and keeping covenant with a thousand generations. God wants to satisfy your mouth with good things. Like a baby bird whose mouth is always open, waiting to be fed by its mother, open your mouth wide, for the Lord says, “I will fill it.” Declaration I declare that God’s Spirit and His Words shall not depart from me or my descendants. This is God’s covenant for me and I believe it and receive it in Jesus’ name.
