Godly Leadership When Hezekiah became king, at 25 years of age, his first task was to restore the temple worship. He first got the priests and Levities to resume their duties in the temple – something that they had neglected for years. He cleansed the temple and restored order in the temple. That’s the result of godly leadership. King Hezekiah used his influence to restore temple worship and to turn the hearts of the people back to God. When our leaders are in right standing with the Lord, they will be able to govern well and lead the people in the right direction. Proverbs 20:28 (MSG) says, Love and truth form a good leader; sound leadership is founded on loving integrity. Today, there is a need for godly leaders, who are seeking the Lord in all their decisions. We need leaders who are obedient to the voice of the Lord. Having charisma and being a good orator are important qualities. But a leader with character and integrity will leave a lasting legacy for generations to follow. Nations can be changed and millions can turn to the Lord when one leader sets his heart on seeking the Lord. Today, let us pray for godly leaders, in every part of our society, who will lead the way God wants them to lead. As they do this, they will impact their sphere of influence for Jesus, bringing God’s Kingdom here on earth. Prayer Father God, we pray for leaders who will seek You in every decision they make, that through their decisions they may be able to impact society and expand Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
