Not Before His Time All great men of God in the Bible, who were called with a purpose and plan, had to wait for ‘God’s time’ until the fulfillment of God’s plan for them. Abraham waited 25 years before Isaac was born. Joseph waited 13 years to see his dreams fulfilled. He was 17 years old when he was sold into slavery and 30 when he finally got promoted by Pharaoh. Elisha had been with Elijah, night and day, for 12 years before receiving a ‘double portion of Elijah’s anointing’ (2 Kings 2:3-5, 3:11). Moses fled Egypt from Pharaoh, at 40 years of age. It took him another 40 years to return to Egypt (Exodus 7:7), to lead His people out of Egypt; and another 40 years before he saw the Promised Land. David waited 13 years after Samuel anointed him as king to actually be crowned king of Israel. What God has said will surely come to pass; even if we see nothing with our physical eyes. We need to wait for His perfect time. He knows when we are prepared! All these men went through perilous times of testing in their lives; facing danger, waiting patiently with no signs of God’s promise being fulfilled. They faced imprisonment, abandonment, rejection, serving endlessly and selflessly, till they saw the fruit of God’s plan and promise in their lives. God knew the ‘exactness of time’ more than they did. Declaration Time is in Your hands, O God. I rest in Your loving arms, knowing that Your Plans for my life will definitely come to pass and my dawn will soon arise.
