Real Hope: O Come Let Us Adore Him

DAY 1 OF 5

## O Holy Night O Holy Night The stars are brightly shining It is the night of our dear Saviour’s birth JOHN SULLIVAN DWIGHT Of all the Christmas songs, O Holy Night is my absolute favourite. It’s a beautiful picture of the night that changed the world forever when unsuspecting shepherds found themselves witness to the most important birth the world would experience: the birth of Jesus Christ. A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices. Jesus was what the world needed but didn’t know it. Creation exhaled and rejoiced, much like myself all those years ago before I encountered love and grace in the person of Jesus. This song reminds me of the hope and peace that filled my heart when Jesus stepped into the picture. Hope and peace that I didn’t know I needed. My weary soul rejoiced. My heart filled with hope. Joy and peace became real to a heart that was fractured. Fall on your knees, O hear the angels’ voices. O night divine, O night when Christ was born. What a divine night. The heavens and earth rejoiced. The angels fell to their knees to worship the arrival of the King of kings. And we were, and are, invited to do the same. To fall on our knees and worship the Son. The One who lowered Himself to come to earth and save our souls. The One who knows our needs and is no stranger to our weakness and shame. He came to bring peace, redemption, and eternal salvation. Let all within us praise His holy name. As we reflect on that holy night this Christmas, let all that is within us praise Him. Let our hearts and souls join in with the heavenly choir and praise the holy name of Jesus. Let us remember that holy, divine night where heaven and earth collided, and our hearts were filled with joy. #### Written by LEILA ARMSTRONG
