### Faith for new beginnings involves leaving behind the security of the familiar New beginnings involve new territory. Yet change can be both exhilarating and challenging at the same time. New beginnings can take us from the familiar to the unknown, from being secure to being vulnerable. Life is made up of seasons, and seasons demand transition in which our spirit and faith are enlarged. There are so many men and women of faith in the Bible who had to leave behind the security of the familiar in order to fulfil God’s purposes. Abraham had the spirit of a pioneer, but he had to set out not knowing where he was going. Joshua had to cross the Jordan into a new land. Ruth required faith to stay with her mother-in-law Naomi without knowing what her future would hold. Esther had no idea what would happen when she approached the king on behalf of the people of Israel. God is preparing us for eternity. Therefore, our relationship of trust with Him must be progressive. Faith demands something beyond obedience. It requires absolute trust and trust must be stretched for it to continue to grow. My own milestones in life and ministry have always required increased faith. Moving from New Zealand to Australia, pioneering a prophetic ministry, building a team, and purchasing property are just a few of the new beginnings in my life which have required the willingness to trust and obey. If we are going to possess the next chapter of God’s intention, we have to step out in faith, into that which is uncomfortable or unfamiliar. A future of faith is a future that ventures into the previously unknown. It is not an extension of the status quo, nor is it a repeat of former achievements! A future of faith is not a duplicate of what we have seen others do. Friends, we live in urgent days. In each of our lives, God is challenging us to greater horizons of faith, deeper levels of trust, greater intensities of passion, and bolder steps of initiative. But will we seize the moment? Our Father wants to put fresh, new spiritual destinations in your heart. God has a new destination for you – this is a time to trust Him as He leads you into the unknown.
