Growing on the Frontline: A Prayer JourneySample

Cultivating fruitfulness: unchecked desires
Lord, I ask for discernment to identify the desires that influence my words and actions. I repent of any unchecked desires that do not honour you.
Desires are not bad in and of themselves. They’re part of what it means to be made in the image of a God who Himself has desires. When we want and desire what God desires, we’re aligned with Him in heart, soul, mind, and strength. Like trees with roots in good soil, we bear fruit. But our desires can also spoil the fruit we bear when they become unchecked and when we try to meet them in our own way, apart from God.
