We live in a world of everything being "instant." We are in instant communication by texting or messaging. We have next-day delivery and on-demand streaming platforms where we can watch almost whatever we want. Because everything is becoming more instant, we become frustrated when we don't get what we want instantly. Sometimes this thinking also happens with our "life plans." We hear that "God has a plan for our lives," but what happens when we don't like how life is going or want something to happen sooner?
In today's verse, we read from the book of Psalms—a collection of prayers, praises, and laments. Use this verse as encouragement if you find yourself in a time of waiting and wanting something to happen now. Ask yourself, what might God be teaching you? How can you find the strength the author is talking about?
Today, pray to God to give you the strength and patience to know God is working everything for our good.

About this Plan

What’s the most unreasonable thing you’ve heard? Was it a story or a statement that was hard for you to believe? It can be difficult to ask questions or express doubt when other people seem so certain, especially when it comes to faith. In this 20-day devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we’ll see it really is possible to have questions and doubts while still having faith.
