[IMAGE CONTENT] # Praying for Israel & Palestine The strip of land between the sea and the desert is only the size of New Jersey, yet Israel and Palestine evoke more passionate discussion than any other spot on the planet. The people in this land are remarkably diverse, each group displaying unique strength and carrying unique needs. While a place known as “The Holy Land” might evoke images of a deeply religious society, most Israelis are postmodern secularists, doubting even the existence of God. Tel Aviv is a top travel destination for the gay community, and prostitutes outnumber Messianic believers by several thousand. Jews, Muslims, and traditional Christians in Israel are all ripe for a move of God. In the land where Jesus walked, very few people have actually heard of the salvation He came to bring. There is a great need for laborers in this conflicted land. Many villages are without a gospel witness, and several groups have no known believers among them. Prayer is also needed that God would miraculously provide long-term visas for Christian workers. “Our friends here don’t know other believers,” one worker explains. “If we are forced to leave, they may never have another opportunity to hear the gospel.” ### Pray for Israel & Palestine: * Pray for freedom from religious bondage. Part fear, part cultural identity, and part desire for control, religion touches every person in Israel and Pales­tine. Pray for all to hear about Jesus, whose yoke is easy and whose burden is light. * Pray for true peace in the land. Pray the believers in Israel and Palestine will walk in overwhelming peace regardless of their circumstances. Pray that the Prince of Peace will be revealed in the land. * Pray for a revival that is beginning in this area. A handful of locations are experiencing a tremendous outpouring of the Spirit amongst political and religious extremists. Pray that the Holy Spirit will do all He desires in Israel and Palestine. * Pray for Secularists. Pray they will have genuine relationships with Spirit-filled believers who lead them to Jesus. * Pray for more churches and more workers in Israel and Palestine. Because Middle Eastern culture is centered on relationships, house churches are an excellent model for kingdom growth in Israel and Palestine. Pray for a strong church in every town. Pray for creative access for long-term workers in the land.
