The Road Less Traveled - a Lent Journey for TeensSample

Mercy
We all need mercy. We all know we need to give mercy and understanding to other people, but sometimes it’s so difficult. We don’t want to help others because we are scared we can’t even help ourselves.
Imagine you were Zacchaeus – a tax collector. Today we don’t know what it means to be a tax collector, but to give you an idea: children spat on tax collectors when they walked past them. People did not like tax collectors at all! But then Jesus comes in Luke 19:1-10, and He shows mercy to Zacchaeus. That led to a radically changed life for Zacchaeus because he paid back those he had done wrong.
This week, you are invited to receive mercy, share mercy, and learn how to get mercy.
Exercise:
Write down the names of those you care for and pray for them this week.

About this Plan

Lent is where we walk with Jesus for 40 days. We are going to look at the Beatitudes of Jesus. These are sayings from Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount. We live in a world filled with uncertainty, fear and anxiety. The beatitudes invite us to live in a new way in this world of ours. Together, we are going to explore new ways to live life.
