Advent in Israel: The Places of Israel & the Story of JesusSample

Day 19 - Nazareth
The ministry of Jesus was one of compassion and conviction, but there is much of his life that is not talked about. Jesus grew up in a quiet town called Nazareth to the north of Jerusalem. His family settled there after their return from Egypt when they fled Herod.
We don’t know much about the childhood of Jesus. He lived in relative obscurity, but what we do know is that He was faithful and continued to grow in stature and favor with God and men. Here in Nazareth, He prepared Himself for the ministry He knew was coming.
While the climactic moments of Jesus’s life are often talked about the most, the everyday, the moments in between, were just as important. How are you using the “in between” moments of your own life to prepare for what’s next?

About this Plan

As we enter the Christmas season, we are all eager to celebrate the birth of Jesus, the point in history where God descended into humanity to bring life to a broken world. Each day leading up to Christmas, we will provide an overview of the biblical significance of a location in Israel, along with a devotional prompt that will connect that location with the life of Jesus in Scripture.
